Bola Bola Balls
1/4 lb finely ground pork
1/4 lb cooked shrimp, minced
1/4 cup minced water chestnuts
1/2 small onion, minced
1 1/2 Tbl soy sauce
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp salt
oil, for deep frying
Snappy Red Sauce for Bola Bola Balls
1 cup chile sauce
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 Tbl minced onion
1/2 tsp prepared horseradish sauce
Bola Bola Balls
1/4 lb finely ground pork
1/4 lb cooked shrimp, minced
1/4 cup minced water chestnuts
1/2 small onion, minced
1 1/2 Tbl soy sauce
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp salt
oil, for deep frying
Combine all ingredients, except oil, and mix together thoroughly. Shape into 1-inch balls and chill for at least 1 hour.
Deep fry in 360-degree oil until a rich brown.
Can be frozen before frying if made ahead of time. Thaw completely before frying.
Snappy Red Sauce for Bola Bola Balls
1 cup chile sauce
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 Tbl minced onion
1/2 tsp prepared horseradish sauce
Combine ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer 10 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
