History:
When the men of Brittany returned from long fishing trips there were celebrations. Huge caldrons were set to bubbling and each family contributed one ingredient. These Welcome Home parties were called Faire La Chaudiere. Many of these sturdy fisher folk crossed the Atlantic and brought with them the memory of these gay times. So, on a smaller and more personal scale, ‘chowder’ became a part of our cuisine.
