Went to see Jack Johnson and we never managed to get any further than the corridor into the stalls.
It was mayhem, with absolutely no room. We never managed to see Jack and the band and had to make do with just listening.
This was a health and safety hazard waiting to happen.
I also saw lots of people complaining and people standing on the stairs in the circle.
Very disappointed. Avoid.

Jack Johnson was AMAZING, security and welfare was not.
Haz • Çiftler
We went to see Jack Johnson play here, who was amazing, BUT unfortunately what was found acceptable to the security and welfare team really let the event down.
There were families with young children there, therefore as a family friendly event I would have expected a more laid back crowd and tight security yet, there were people smoking canabis vapes, visibly under the influence of class A's and alcohol, aggressive behaviour and language. This was at the front of the crowd where security was greater, and where they could see, hear and smell what was going on yet ignored it. We left early to find people at the back in worse states and vomiting.
I'm not a prude and have attended festivals and gigs from metal to classical and have always felt safe and comfortable, this was the first time I have ever felt vulnerable and it distracted our enjoyment of the concert.
The Apollo should review how they manage family friendly gigs and put regulations in place that safeguard children from having to witness base behavior.

A magical comical evening
Haz
First time at the Apollo, to see Penn & Teller.
Intitially, the ticketing caused us some concern. We were given them by our daughters and we thought a screenshot would have sufficed but only a couple of days before the show, discovered it didn't. Quite a complicated situation to enable us to access my daughters account (we are hardly computer experts) and we did manage the technology, however seeing others gaining access with paper tickets and printouts was a bit annoying.
We arrived at for doors opening at and were amazed to see quite a queue had already built up. Great queue management though and shortly before the actual time, doors were open.
The security process was quick and efficient and we were soon in a spacious foyer and up to our seats. It was pretty full but any time I needed to go anywhere - toilets, bar etc. it was easy to get served and movement was easy.
The show was excellent, the two stars carrying out their trickery very efficiently and to be able to have an audience of several thousand actually participate in one of their card tricks was excellent. True professionals.
Venue and act was worth the visit and I would certainly go to see them again

First time visiting the Apollo. Went to see Penn and Teller who put on a fantastic show. Generally a good venue but could do with better air con and more ladies toilets.

Penn & Teller disappoints

Penn & Teller really disappointing. Local kids magician is more impressing. If your looking for a big show go elsewhere.

Amazing venue
Haz • Aile
First time visit to the Hammersmith Apollo. After seeing the venue on TV for many years it’s was lovely to finally visit it.
Love the art deco inside in the main theatre and the bar areas.
We went for the BGT live semi finals and all the staff were great from the Applause staff and the Apollo staff too.
Access at the front was quick and inside via the circle doors to the seating area.
We had a great view from Section 5 in the circle and the atmosphere was amazing.

A larger ladies experience!
May • Arkadaşlar
Went to see Ari Lennox on the 16th May. Great show and good venue, queues moved quickly once doors open.
Now…for my larger folk like me….I sat in circle block 6 Row T. I wear a size 22 and am 5ft 8. The seats in that section have built in arm rests that cannot be moved, it was just about bearable, however my knee room was non existent (this is why I don’t really do theatres) and one knee was significantly painful by the end, some 3+hrs. Again I cannot fault the venue for this as people come in all shapes and sizes. Just thought I’d add this in as I couldn’t find anything surrounding this prior to my visit!

Razor Light supported by Affleck Palace at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.
May • Arkadaşlar
It’s not often I go to Hammersmith as it’s not the easiest venue to get to from the suburbs of Sth London…. That said, i have seen some fantastic artists perform here over the years. I braved the rail strikes last night and got a taxi there and back again to see RazorLight perform. I’ve seen them before many years ago and they did not disappoint. Their supporting act/back-up band ‘Affleck Palace’ deserve a little mention too as they were fantastic and the lead singer has a great sense of humour as well as cracking vocals. The venue was well staffed with easy access bar areas too. All in all a good night here again.

Wonderful staff, helpful, efficient and anxiety easing.
May • Çiftler
We saw the Tournament of Gamers on the 8th May, before travelling abroad and had 3 suitcases with us! We were told they would house them safely in the venue, but they would need to be searched which we were happy to help with, whilst this solved a lot of practical problems for us, we were quite nervous about maybe holding up the queue for the other guests, or causing a headache for the poor soul that was expecting a tiny purse or handbag and being lumped with 3 suitcases bound for France wondering if they were suddenly working for Heathrow airport.
We didn’t need to fret, as every person we came across at the venue treated us so well, even with concern about our plans afterwards and if we had everything else sorted, some with genuine excitement and curiosity, but most importantly everyone made us feel welcome and dealt with our situation with such confidence and ease, and worked with us too and it was an absolute breeze, I didn’t manage to get anyone else’s name, other than Tom at the Cloak room who dealt with our bags very well and with ease! But to anyone who came across the anxious looking couple with 3 suitcases, find them and make sure they know how much we appreciated their help and support.
Thanks again for making it so easy and accessible.

Pentatonix concert
May • Arkadaşlar
Went with my adult daughter to see the Pentatonix - the tickets had been booked in but had been covid postponed until we finally saw them in May - they were brilliant and the venue also good. Seating comfortable, staff helpful and a good venue for a concert. When we arrived the queue to get in was massive - all around the front of the venue and right the way down the side of a nearby street but the queue moved fast and security checks felt thorough.

Hi, im planning to travel to Eventim Apollo from Guildford by car. Where is best to park. Or what is a good tube station to park at and get the tube in? Thank you

How much is the cloakroom if i wanna put a jacket in there?
Even if you planned to visit Athens just to see the latest developments in art, food and music, you’d be hard-pressed to ignore the ancient monuments that dominate the city. From the Acropolis on high, to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the incredible museums, this is a place that screams history. That said, it’s fun to explore the modern side of the city too, whether it’s outsider art in derelict buildings or chefs putting a new twist on old Greek food classics.
It can be hard to tell as you tread through the ruins, but the Acropolis was once a city on a hill, built by Pericles in the 5th century BC. Much of what he built has since fallen, but the Parthenon stands reasonably proud. You’ll also discover the Temple of Athena Nike, the dramatic amphitheater known as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and much more. To save them for posterity, many of the statues and artifacts have been taken to the Acropolis Museum on site while other parts remain abroad, controversially possessed by countries that plundered it in the past.
Down in the center of Athens stands the Temple of Olympian Zeus, or what remains of it. It took years to build, started by Peisistratos and eventually finished by Hadrian. 15 columns remain from the original , although one did blow down in the midth century.
Finish your ancient tour with a visit to the Agora, where Socrates used to deliver speeches. It was a key site from the 6th century BC and is packed with the remains of several temples, an odeon, gymnasium and statues.
Of course, Athens boasts its fair share of striking new buildings too. The Acropolis Museum was a notable addition to the city in , while the Renzo Piano-designed Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center was gifted to the city in Solar-powered and airy, it has outdoor vegetable gardens, a sea-water canal and concert space. Most of the events here are free and it has proved a huge hit with locals.
The Onassis Cultural Center was opened in , with nine of its 16 floors underground. It houses concert halls, art spaces, an open-air theater and more. It’s another sign of how the city is refreshing itself in the wake of the financial crisis.
There’s little finer than the Greek cuisine classics, whether it’s moussaka, stuffed vine leaves or a fresh salad of tomatoes and feta cheese eaten in the sun. But if you fancy a break from the norm, it’s not hard to find places adding a twist to these tried-and-tested recipes.
For a real treat, push the boat out at the innovative Funky Gourmet, which has two Michelin stars. Anyone for Greek fish roe tart with white chocolate, or their signature ‘Greek Salad’? The latter is a wonder of molecular gastronomy – a scoop of snow that somehow tastes of feta, olives, cucumber, tomatoes and olive oil. It’s just more proof of how Athens shouldn’t be taken for granted.
Enjoy car rental in Athens and tick off these must-see sights, or set your own agenda and head out in the hills, valleys, olive groves and vineyards of gorgeous Greece.
