From inside his prison.. Salah al-Din Demirtas, leader of the opposition Peoples&#; Democratic Party, announces his retirement from politics

Selahattin Demirtas, the former co-chair of the HDP, who has been imprisoned in Edirne Prison for years, announced that he left active politics at this stage.

According to what was translated by “Turkey Urgent,” Demirtas, who shared part of his interview, which will be broadcast on Artı Gerçek channel tomorrow, said on his Twitter account, “I sincerely apologize for not being able to put forward a policy worthy of our people on my behalf. I undertake to correct these shortcomings with my practical efforts.”

“I also appreciate constructive criticism. I will try to take advantage of the criticism. While I continue to struggle with the resistance like all my prison mates, I leave active politics at this point.”

In an interview with BBC Turkey before the election, Demirtas said, &#;If Erdogan wins again, Turkey will become a dictatorship, that&#;s clear.&#;

Demirtas also wrote an article for Artı Gerçek Today. Demirtas, who said that the group that took over the state used all the capabilities of the state in the electoral process, emphasized that it would be easy to attribute the party&#;s failure to achieve sufficient success in the elections to this alone.

Pointing out that the HDP/YSP vote rates decreased in 87 constituencies, Demirtaş said that extensive and in-depth discussions should be held within the party on this issue with scientific field analysis reports.

Аннотация: Исследование, проведенное кафедрой социологии и психологии политики факультета политологии МГУ, сфокусировано на том, каким предстает Евросоюз в сознании российских граждан в момент обострения отношений нашей страны с этой организацией. Авторы приводят данные, дающие ответы на вопросы: считают ли респонденты Европейский союз партнером, врагом или другом России? Насколько эта организация воспринимается ими как сильный и эффективный игрок на международной арене? Как россияне оценивают санкции, введенные Евросоюзом в отношении России? Анализ ответов на эти и другие вопросы позволил сделать авторам ряд выводов. Методологической основой исследования является системный, структурно-функциональный, сравнительно-политический подходы, методы политической социологии и политической психологии, анализа, синтеза, индукции, дедукции, наблюдения. Образ ЕС отличается амбивалентностью и неустойчивостью. Наиболее важным результатом стало то, что более половины опрошенных считают ЕС сильным, но постепенно слабеющим под воздействием США «декоративным союзом». В образе присутствуют признаки старения. Большинство считает ЕС партнером. Однако в ЕС как партнере, многие респонденты разочарованы и называют его ненадежным и неверным. Примерно четверть опрошенных видит в нем врага, и только незначительное число рассматривает его как друга. При этом в будущем опрошенные не видят альтернативы отношениям добрососедства и партнерства. Более того, большинство опрошенных считают Россию частью Европы.
