Antalya'da yapılan Türk Pediatri Kongresi'nde konuşan Türk Pediatri Kurumu Başkanı Prof. Dr. Fügen Çullu Çokuğraş, çocuk gelin oranının batı ülkelerinde çok düşük, gelişmekte olan ülkelerde ise neredeyse yüzde 50 oranında olduğunu aktardı. Çokuğraş, Türkiye'de çocuk gelinler konusunda resmi rakamlar ve gayri resmi rakamların birbiriyle örtüşmediğini belirterek, "Türkiye'de çocuk gelin oranının yüzde oranında olduğunu gösteren çalışmalar mevcuttur. Bu oranın Türkiye'nin doğu illerinde yüzde 42,5, güneydoğuda ise yüzde 59,7 oranında olduğu saptanmıştır. Birleşmiş Milletler (BM) Nüfus Fonu'nun Türkiye'deki çocuk evlilikleri konusunda hazırladığı bir rapora göre, yılında yapılmış evliliklerde, 18 yaş altı evlilikler toplamın yüzde 28,2'sidir. 18 yaşında evlenenlerin oranı ise toplamda yüzde 11,5'tir" dedi.

Türkiye'de sosyo-ekonomik nedenlerden dolayı yapılan erken evliliklerin önemli bir kısmının dini nikahla gerçekleştiğini belirten Çokuğraş, bu durumun vücudunu tanıyamadan evlenen ve kendisi çocukken kucağına bir çocuk alan çocuk gelinlerin hayatını daha da kararttığını söyledi.

Çokuğraş, aile içi şiddet ve psikolojik sorunların bazen çocukların intiharı ile sonuçlandığını da dile getirerek, "Dünyada 18 yaşına kadar herkesin çocuk sayılması gerektiğini, tüm çocukların eğitim, fiziksel, ruhsal, psikososyal gelişim haklarının olduğunu ve pediatristlerin bu yolda mücadele vermesi gerektiğini bu kongremizde bir kez daha vurgulamak istedik" diye konuştu.

CHP Mersin Milletvekili Prof. Dr. Aytuğ Atıcı da çocuk gelinlerin ülkemizdeki çocuk istismarının en somut şekli olduğunu öne sürerek, gelenekselleşmiş toplumsal bir davranış halinde olduğunu söyledi. Atıcı, gelişmekte olan ülkelerde her yıl milyon kız çocuğunun erken yaşta evlendirildiğini vurgulayarak, şöyle konuştu: "Türkiye özelinde ise çok çelişkili rakamlar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Aileler, suç olduğu için çocuk evlilikleri gizlemekte, hükümetler ise oy kaygısı ve prestij kaybı korkusuyla sağlıklı veri elde etmemektedir. Avrupa'da erken evliliğin değerlendirildiği bir araştırmada, en yüksek oranlar sırasıyla Gürcistan yüzde 17, Türkiye yüzde 14, Ukrayna, İngiltere ve Fransa yüzde 10 olarak saptanmıştır. Yani, erken evlilikte Avrupa ikincisiyiz."

"TÜİK RAKAMLARI ALDATICI"

Atıcı, Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu'nun (TÜİK) verilerine göre yılında yaş grubundaki kızların yüzde 69,9'unun, kendisinden 6 ve daha büyük yaşta bir erkekle evlendirildiğini dile getirerek, şu ifadeleri kullandı: "TÜİK'e göre, yılında yapılan toplam resmi evlenmeler içinde, yaşında evlenen kız çocuklarının oranı yüzde 6,7, sayıları da 40 bin 'dir. Bu doğru değildir. Yapılan araştırmalar da gösteriyor ki yılında 18 yaş altında evlenen kız çocuğu sayısı bin , erkek nüfusu ise 14 bin 'dur. TÜİK rakamlarına göre kız çocuk evliliklerinin azalmış görünmesi aldatıcıdır. Çünkü, TÜİK verileri resmi evlilik rakamlarıdır. Sadece yaşı kapsamaktadır. Biliyoruz ki kayıtsız evlilikler, başka isimde evlilikler, yaş büyüterek evlilikler ülkemizde yaygındır. Buna rağmen rakamlar, çağdaşlık iddiasındaki ülkemize yakışmamaktadır."

TÜRKİYE ÜLKE ARASINDA SIRADA"

Prof. Dr. Rıda Madazlı da BM verilerine göre gelişmekte olan ülkelerde her gün 18 yaşın altında 20 bin kızın doğum yaptığının altını çizerek, yılında güvenli olmayan düşük ve sonlandırmanın sayısının 3 milyon olduğunu belirtti.

Dünya üzerinde her gün kız çocuğunun ergenlik döneminde yaşadığı gebelik yüzünden öldüğünü dile getiren Madazlı, "Türkiye ülke arasında ergen doğurganlık hızına göre, büyükten küçüğe yapılan sıralamada sırada yer almaktadır" dedi.

Uzman Dr. Zeynep Eras ise erken yaşta evlenmenin, erken gebeliği de beraberinde getirdiğini ifade ederek, bunun anne ve çocuk sağlığını tehlikeye soktuğunu belirtti.

Erken evliliklerin, eğitimin ve annenin çalışma yaşamına katılmasına engel olarak, kişiyi ekonomik açıdan bağımlı hale getirdiğini vurgulayan Eras, "Erken evlenen bir annenin henüz psikolojik ve duygusal açıdan ebeveynliğe hazır olmaması, destekleyici öğrenme ortamının sağlanmaması, ekonomik zorluklar ve beraberinde gelen diğer olumsuzluklar, çocuğu gelişimsel açıdan risk altına sokar" diye konuştu.

Prof. Dr Levent Kayaalp de evlenen ergenlerin hemen hemen hepsinin kız olduğunu ifade ederek, erkeklerin ergenlik dönemlerinde evlenmediğini savundu.
