1. download: you can also get clean downloads from seafoodplus.info and seafoodplus.info
2. verify: make sure you didn't download malware. the 3 linked sites all offer a clean app download, and the malware infected ones are probably just floating around some shady forums, but just to be sure:
find out the Pokemon Go apk hash (usually md5 or sha1)
look for some hash that is posted on some other, unrelated website (e.g. if you download from seafoodplus.info, don't necessarily trust the hash that seafoodplus.info tells you)
check the hash of your downloaded apk. You can easily do that with an online tool such as seafoodplus.info
make sure that the hash matches the one we found in step
3 how to enable installing apps from outside the Play Store:
(on older android phones, it's not under Applications instead of Security)
4. installation: download/copy the file onto your phone and open it. Install as usual
NOTE: check the permissions the app is requesting when installing! if something is unusual, such as recording audio or sending SMS, make sure you got a safe apk! (see blog post below*)
5. revert settings: (optional) uncheck "Unknown Sources" again (see step 3)

A Rediscovered Gem with Some Glitches Review: I recently rediscovered this game after taking a break for several years, and I must say, it's still a lot of fun. However, I've encountered some frustrating glitches that have hindered my experience. Firstly, I've noticed an issue with the game not registering my achievements accurately. For instance, today I threw three great curve balls, but only one of them was counted. It's disappointing when your efforts don't reflect in your progress.

It's a wonderful game and I've been playing for quite some time now, but I must say it does need to be fixed here and there: For example the way remote raid passes work tend to mess up, raids tend to kick people out, the loading screen sometimes freezes, the game tends to crash every now and then, but other then those issues this game is perfect for a explorer and a collector! I diffently think you should download this game if you can get up and move around. Thanks for reading this!!

Could use improvements. Curve ball throws are just odd. I'd like to see type balls implemented. I would like to grow my own berries as well. Also, while this is a 'go' game and I understand the concept, I'm not capable of all the walking necessary to even get to the nearest stop. I have to drive which lowers the 'go' aspects anyway. Even if it's a premium or subscription feature a joystick, even if it moves slow, would be infinitely helpful.

Pokémon are out there, and you need to find them. As you walk around a neighborhood, your smartphone will vibrate when there’s a Pokémon nearby. Take aim and throw a Poké Ball… You’ll have to stay alert, or it might get away!
Search far and wide for Pokémon and items
Certain Pokémon appear near their native environment—look for Water-type Pokémon by lakes and oceans. Visit PokéStops, found at interesting places like museums, art installations, historical markers, and monuments, to stock up on Poké Balls and helpful items.
Catching, hatching, evolving, and more
As you level up, you’ll be able to catch more-powerful Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. You can add to your collection by hatching Pokémon Eggs based on the distances you walk. Help your Pokémon evolve by catching many of the same kind.
Take on Gym battles and defend your Gym
As your Charmander evolves to Charmeleon and then Charizard, you can battle together to defeat a Gym and assign your Pokémon to defend it against all comers.
It’s time to get moving—your real-life adventures await!
Note: This app is free-to-play and is optimized for smartphones, not tablets.
