Hope Island movie, which was screened by Ayşe Öztürk and directed by Mustafa Kara, was released in , introduced Asil (Halef Tiken), Yusuf (Gürkan Tavukçuoğlu), Vildan (Arzu Yanardağ) ve Tuğra’s (Alican Yücesoy) stories, migrating to London due to a number of conflicts in which they face in Turkey, to the audience inspired by the lived experience. With a metaphorical and symbolic meaning, the film marks the pursuit of safe living and well-being in the island state of Britain. While some immigrants are aiming to learn language or find jobs to reach economic prosperity, the others are dreaming to get rid of some of the crimes committed in Turkey or a beautiful future for their children. The film focuses on the funereal stories of people who are defined as irregular migration in the literature, migrated abroad through illegal means. In this study, we aim to examine the stories in the movie Hope Island in three stages (before migration, during migration and after migration) with a thematic approach within the framework of the concepts of labour, socio economic conflicts and integration from the perspective of fiction and reality.
