If the appliance is installed next to another refrigerator or freezer, observe a minimum distance of 2 cm to prevent condensation. Installation The appliance must stand firmly and level on the floor. Electrical connection Connect the appliance only to 220-240 V/ 50 Hz alternating current via a correctly installed earthed socket. The socket must be fused with a fuse 210 A. If the appliance is to be operated in a non- European country, check on the rating plate whether the supply voitage and current type correspond with the values of your mains supply. The operating instructions refer to several models, Equipment and details in the diagrams may vary. No-frost function: The fully automatic No-Frost system prevents ice from forming in the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Defrosting is therefore no longer required. The food in the refrigerator and freezer compartments is cooled and frozen by cold air! An evaporator in the No-Frost system cools the air in the appliance. The cold air is circulated by a fan. The humidity in the air is condensed on the evaporator. If required, the evaporator is automatically defrosted. The condensation is conveyed to the refrigerating unit where it evaporates. Fast freeze freezes large quantities of fresh food and should be switched ON up to 24 hours before the fresh food is placed in the appliance. When Fast freeze has been switched ON, the refrigerating unit operates continu- ously and the freezer compartment drops to a very low temperature. Fast freeze automatically switches OFF approx. 50 hours after it was switched ON. 3 m (memory) button If the indicator 5 flashes the “warmest temperature” is displayed which was reached in the freezer compartment when a fault occurred. When the “m” button is pressed, the “warmest temperature” is cancelled and the memory function is re-activated. The indicator 5 then displays the current refrigerator-compartment temperature without flashing, if the indicator continues flashing, the freezer compartment is still too warm. 4 [Ki button Switches OFF the acoustic signal. The acoustic signal is emitted when the freezer compartment becomes too warm, i.e. the frozen food is in danger of thaw- ing {Display 5 flashes simultaneously). The acoustic signal is also emitted when - the appliance is switched ON - fresh food is placed in the freezer compartment without switching on Fast E treeze — the freezer-compartment door has been left open too long. After the acoustic signal has been switched OFF, it automatically goes to standby when the freezer compartment has reached its operating temperature again. Multi-function display displays different temperatures a) Current refrigerator-compartment temperature Displays the current temperature in the refrigerator compartment without any button being pressed. b) Freezer-compartment temperature too warm If the indicator 5 flashes the “warmest temperature” is displayed which was reached in the freezer compartment when a fault occurred. When the “m” button is pressed, the “warmest temperature” is cancelled and the memory function is re- activated. The indicator 5 then displays the current refrigerator- compartment temperature without fiashing, if the indicator continues flashing, the freezer compartment is still too warm. c) Current freezer-compartment temperature If the Freezer button 7 is pressed, the current freezer-compartment temperature is displayed for 5 seconds. The display then switches to the current refrigerator-compartment temperature. d) Temperature selection for freezer compartment, If the {-button 6 is pressed, the temperature selection is displayed for 5 seconds. The display then switches to the current refrigerator-compartment temperature. 23 6 { selection button for freezer- compartment temperature (The freezer-compartment can be selected from -18 °C to -26 °C). Press the {-button. The temperature selection is indicated on Display 5 for 5 seconds. Press the selection button repeatedly or continuously until the desired tempera- ture is displayed. (The temperatures are displayed consecutively from -18 °C to -26 °C. -18 °C is redisplayed after -26 °C). 7 Freezer button Indicates the current freezer- compartment temperature on Display 5 (see description of Display 5c). 12 Temperature selector for refrigerator- compartment temperature Fig. @/12 To select a temperature, turn the temperature selector to a setting. Position 1 indicates the warmest temperature, Position 5 indicates the coldest temperature. We recommend an average setting {Position 3). An acoustic signal is emitted and Display 5 flashes. e Press the 71 button 4, - The acoustic signal is switched OFF, e Press the “m” button 3, (the “memory” function is activated). e Selecting the temperature for the freezer compartment Press the Ú-button 6. The temperature selection is indicated for 5 seconds on Display 5. Press the button several times or continuously until the desired tempera- ture is displayed (The temperatures are displayed consecutively. —18 °C is redisplayed after —26 °C). We recommend a setting of ~18 °C. € Selecting the temperature for the freezer compartment Open the refrigerator-compartment door (interior light illuminates). Turn the temperature selector, Fig. 6/12 first to an average setting, e.g. 3. e When the freezer compartment has reached its operating temperature, Display 5 stops flashing and displays the current refrigerator-compartment temperature. The refrigerator- compartment temperature changes relatively slowly depending on the load. We recommend that the setting of the temperature selector is such that Display 5 constantly indicates a temperature of approx. 6 °C. The temperature setting can also only be corrected slowly. Switching { ON. and en Switching OFF and longer periods of disuse Note ® The temperature in the refrigerator compartment may fluctuate because: — The appliance door is opened frequently — Large quantities of fresh food are placed in the refrigerator compartment and/or freezer compartment — The ambient temperature changes — The temperature-selector setting for the freezer compartment changes or Fast freeze has been activated. ® To prevent condensation in the area of the door seal, the sides of the housing are partially heated. e
